What are NPCs and How Are They Used?

"NPC" stands for "Non-Player Character." This is a character that exists in the world but is not owned nor played by one specific player and is often used by the entire group. The only exception to this being "Staff-Exclusive NPCs" as these are NPCs that are locked to Staff, often for plot reasons.

NPCs are differentiated from player characters with the orange applications. As a player, you are more than welcome to feature NPCs in your literature and art, as long as you're following their existing personality and rules! You can even roleplay as them in our 'camp antics' channels. You'll notice that some NPCs are even listed as adoptable! More about that in Adopting an NPC below. You're even welcome to submit one or two NPCs of your very own.

Submitting an NPC

Every player has two NPC slots for use per character in their roster. These can be submitted at any time, even if you're not bringing in a new player character. You can even use an NPC slot to create and 'store' a character that you'd like to submit as a player character later. When an NPC of yours is adopted, killed, or otherwise removed from the group, your NPC slot becomes available again.

NPC's are submitted through a Character Submission Ticket. You must have an image (generators and bases are fine, as long as you are following their TOS) on the NPC Visual Application and a filled out NPC Sheet.

Important Note: We do not enforce private agreements or character leases. When someone adopts a character, it becomes theirs for all purposes, including character plots, removal, and death.
